Bagua Mirror
The bagua mirror is the foundational protective tool of classical feng shui—placed above the front door or facing a window to deflect sha qi, the negative energy generated by poison arrows, sharp corners, and energetic disturbances from the surrounding environment.
The octagonal frame corresponds to the eight trigrams of the I Ching, each governing a direction and life domain. The mirror at the center acts as the active protective element.
Concave vs. Convex:
The concave mirror absorbs and neutralizes incoming negative energy—used when the source of disturbance is close or concentrated. The convex mirror deflects and disperses—preferred for general protection against broader environmental sha qi. When in doubt, concave is the more conservative and widely recommended choice.
Always mount facing outward. Never hang a bagua mirror facing inward toward your living space.
